Should Liverpool stick with Arne Slot or is it time for a change?

Right so let me get this straight. Arne Slot comes in, wins the Premier League title in his first season, and now there are people at Anfield actually booing after a draw. A draw. Against Chelsea who had just lost six league games on the spin. Six. That Chelsea side had more red flags than a bullfighting convention and Liverpool still couldn't beat them.

That is genuinely the most Liverpool thing that has happened all season. And this season has had a lot of Liverpool things in it.

Look, the stats do not lie and the pattern here is pretty damning. Man United, rock bottom of the away form table, come to Anfield and win. Nottingham Forest, shaky as anything early doors, come to Anfield and win three nil. Burnley, losing eight of their ten away games, come to Anfield and hold them to a draw. There is something seriously wrong with Liverpool at home this season and pretending otherwise is just not honest.

But here is where it gets complicated. Sacking Slot would be absolutely mental. The man won the league. One bad title defence does not undo that. Klopp had rough patches too, remember. People forget that because of what came after. Give the man time, give him a proper window to reshape the squad, and see what happens.

The real question is not whether Slot is good enough. It is whether the squad is. Some of those players look like they are running on fumes and the depth just is not there in key areas. When things get tight and Liverpool need someone to change a game off the bench, they are looking at options that simply are not good enough at this level.

FSG need to back him properly this summer. If they do and Liverpool still look this passive and vulnerable at home next season, then fine, have the conversation. But right now, binning the manager who just won you the title because the defence has been rough would be the sort of decision that haunts a club for years.

Let me know your thoughts.
