Biography
Early Life
Born on October 24, 2001 in Liverpool, Anthony Gordon came through Everton's academy — the club he supported as a child. He worked his way through every youth level at Goodison Park and broke into the senior squad during one of the most turbulent periods in Everton's modern history, developing his game in difficult circumstances that many young players would have crumbled under.
Breakthrough
Gordon's pace, directness and ability to take people on made him one of the most exciting young wingers in the Premier League. Newcastle United paid around £45M to bring him to St. James' Park in 2023, and the move transformed his career. The atmosphere, the clarity of role, and the backing of the Geordie crowd brought the best out of him.
Career
At Newcastle, Gordon became one of the Premier League's best wide attackers — electric in transition, clinical in the final third. In Europe he racked up 10 goals in 12 games, bettered only by Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé. By April 2026 he was pushing to leave Newcastle with clubs including Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester United competing for his signature, with Newcastle demanding more than £80M.
Personal Life
Gordon is a proud Scouser despite building his career in the northeast. He has spoken about the peculiarity of supporting Everton as a boy and then moving to a rival city's club — but Newcastle quickly became home. He is close to his family and is known for his consistency in training.
Legacy
One of the most in-demand wingers in world football at 24. A player whose trajectory only points upward.
