Early Life

Pablo Martin Paez Gavira, known as Gavi, was born on August 5, 2004 in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Seville. He comes from a football-obsessed Andalusian family and joined Barcelona's La Masia academy as a young child, where his intensity and pressing immediately stood out.

Breakthrough

Gavi was given his Barcelona debut at 17 by Ronald Koeman and immediately looked like a veteran. Quick, aggressive in the press, technically excellent — he was nominated for the Golden Boy award in his first season and won the Kopa Trophy for best young player at the 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Career

Spain's Euro 2024 triumph was heavily built around the Gavi and Pedri axis in midfield — one of the most dynamic young midfield partnerships in international football history.
