Early Life
Kylian Mbappe was born on December 20, 1998 in Paris, France, to a Cameroonian father and an Algerian mother. He grew up in Bondy, a Paris suburb, where his pace and directness in the street made him stand out from the beginning. He was already training with professional clubs in his teens.
Breakthrough
Monaco signed Mbappe from their academy and he burst onto the world stage aged 18, helping Monaco win their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years and reach the Champions League semi-finals. PSG paid an eye-watering fee to bring him to Paris โ at the time, the second most expensive transfer ever recorded.
