Right so Chelsea and Arsenal are both sniffing around Eli Junior Kroupi now. Of course they are. Because apparently one transfer saga at a time is not enough for London football and we all need to spend our summers absolutely losing our minds over a teenager most people had never heard of six months ago.
Kroupi is the real deal though, no point pretending otherwise. Seventeen years old, already tearing it up at Strasbourg, and now two of the biggest clubs in England want him. Arsenal fans will be quietly confident because they have genuinely built something smart in terms of recruitment over the last few years. Chelsea fans will also be quietly confident because they have approximately nine hundred players already and somehow still need more. That is just Chelsea being Chelsea at this point.
Speaking of needing things, Manchester United want Sandro Tonali and Ederson. Bold. Genuinely bold. Tonali you can understand, United's midfield has looked like a car with three wheels for a while now. But Ederson leaving City would be enormous. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and the idea of him rocking up at Old Trafford is the kind of transfer that would make everyone do a double take. United fans would love it. City fans would be furious. Everyone else would just be entertained. Seems about right for modern football.
Then there is Harry Wilson being eyed by Fulham and Everton. Solid player, good feet, the kind of winger who has never quite cracked the top level but would be a decent bit of business for either club. Fulham are quietly doing things properly under Marco Silva and Wilson would fit their style. Everton meanwhile are just trying to survive at this point so any business that does not end in a tribunal is probably a win for them.
The summer window is that moment in every football fan's life where hope genuinely springs eternal, right up until the moment your club signs the wrong player for forty million and you spend September questioning all your life choices.
