Jarrod Bowen to Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all at once. Brilliant. The man is basically window shopping at three supermarkets simultaneously and somehow none of them have noticed each other in the queue yet. West Ham must be absolutely loving this, by the way. Nothing inflates a price tag faster than three desperate clubs sniffing around the same player at the same time. Get the popcorn out.
Here is the thing about Bowen though. He is genuinely good. Not hype good, actually good. Consistent in the Premier League, works his socks off, scores goals, creates chances, presses from the front. He is not flashy but he does the job and does it properly week in week out. The kind of player every manager wants in their squad because he never gives you a headache off the pitch and rarely lets you down on it.
Chelsea's interest makes sense on paper but then again Chelsea's interest in literally everyone makes sense on paper and then somehow they end up with seventeen wingers and none of them are quite right. Liverpool under Slot are clearly looking to evolve the squad and Bowen fits the energy Klopp built there, still very much alive under the new setup. The Anfield move feels the most natural if he actually goes anywhere.
Man Utd though. This is where it gets complicated. Ruben Amorim needs bodies, needs quality, needs it yesterday. But Bowen heading to Old Trafford right now feels like signing up to be a passenger on a ship where nobody can quite agree which direction is actually the ocean. Talented player, wrong moment, wrong environment. That is just the reality of where United are right now.
West Ham meanwhile will demand a fee that makes your eyes water. They have every right to. He has been their best player for years and they know exactly what the market looks like when three big clubs come calling at the same time. Expect silly money. Expect at least one of these clubs to blink first and walk away acting like it was their idea all along.
Let me know your thoughts.
