Biography
Early Life
Xavi Simons was born on April 21, 2003 in Amsterdam to a Dutch-Surinamese family. Named after the Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez by his football-obsessed father, the young Simons joined Barcelona's La Masia at the age of just seven โ moving abroad as a child to chase his dream.
Breakthrough
After years at La Masia, Simons moved to PSG as a teenager when his contract expired. He struggled for regular football and moved to PSV Eindhoven where he produced extraordinary numbers โ 22 goals and 12 assists in his debut Eredivisie season. RB Leipzig then took him on loan and he continued to dazzle in the Bundesliga.
Career
Simons returned to PSG after his loan spells and has established himself as one of Europe's most exciting young playmakers. His touch, vision, and ability to play in multiple midfield roles make him adaptable and dangerous. The Netherlands have become a team built partly around his creativity.
