How to Play

  2. 02Press on the first letter of a name and drag to the last letter, then let go.
  3. 03Names run in any direction: across, down, diagonally, and backwards.
  4. 04Each name you find is crossed off and shows a quick fact about the player.
  5. 05Stuck? A hint gives you a player's first letter, name length and country.
  6. 06Find all 12 to stop the clock, then share your time.

Football Word Search FAQ

How do you play Football Word Search?

Twelve footballers are hidden in a 13x13 grid of letters. Drag across the letters to select a name — when it matches one on the word list it locks in and you get a short fact about the player. Find all twelve to finish the puzzle.

Which directions can the names run?

Any of eight: left to right, right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, and all four diagonals. Backwards names are usually the last ones you find.

Are there hints?

Yes. Tap Hint and one of the players you have not found yet is described by their first letter, the length of their name and their country. The share card counts how many hints you used, so the purist score is zero.

How often is there a new puzzle?

Every day at midnight, with a new theme each time — 107 themes in rotation across club legends, league icons and great international sides.

Is Football Word Search free?
