Fulham Enter the Race for Crysencio Summerville as Chelsea and Man Utd Circle

The race for Crysencio Summerville is getting interesting, with Saturday's papers reporting that Fulham have joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the hunt for the Leeds United winger. Three clubs, one player, and what is shaping up to be a proper transfer tug of war this summer.

Summerville had an outstanding season in the Championship, finishing as one of the division's standout performers and proving he has the quality to attract serious top-flight attention. The Dutch winger is quick, direct, and has that ability to make something happen out of nothing — exactly the kind of player Premier League clubs are always scrambling to get their hands on.

From a Manchester United perspective, and yes the writer holds a soft spot there, the interest makes a lot of sense. United have been crying out for a winger who can beat a man and deliver consistently, and Summerville fits that profile nicely. Whether they actually get the deal done is another matter entirely, because United have a well-documented habit of being linked with everyone and signing approximately nobody until deadline day chaos kicks in.

Chelsea's interest is hardly a surprise either. They have signed roughly half the footballers in Europe over the past two years, so adding another winger to the collection feels very on brand for them. The concern for Summerville might actually be whether he would get enough game time at Stamford Bridge, given the sheer volume of attacking players already on their books.

Fulham are perhaps the most intriguing suitor of the three. Marco Silva has built something genuinely solid at Craven Cottage, and players tend to go there and actually play football rather than sit in a squad rotation nightmare. For Summerville, if the ambition is to prove himself in the Premier League consistently, Fulham might quietly be the smartest move.

Leeds will want good money for him, and rightly so. He was their best player last season and they are not exactly in a position where they need to sell in a rush. Whoever wins this race will need to put their hand in their pocket properly.
