Four Premier League Clubs Chase Alex Scott as Sunday Transfer Gossip Heats Up

Sunday's transfer gossip is doing what Sunday gossip does best — throwing a load of stories at the wall and seeing what sticks. And this particular batch has some genuinely interesting bits worth unpacking over your morning coffee.

The headline act is Bournemouth's Alex Scott, who is apparently being tracked by no fewer than four Premier League clubs. That is quite the audience for a young midfielder who has been quietly bossing it on the south coast. Scott has been one of the more exciting talents in the league over the past couple of seasons, and it would be no surprise at all to see him move up to a bigger club sooner rather than later. The real question is whether Bournemouth can hold onto him, and more to the point, whether they'd even want to if the money is right.

Over at Arsenal, the word is that they have agreed to sell Leandro Trossard. Now that one is a bit of a head-scratcher. Trossard has been a solid, reliable option for Mikel Arteta — never the flashiest name on the teamsheet but always doing a job. Perhaps Arsenal see an opportunity to reinvest the money, or perhaps they simply want to make room. Either way, it feels like a low-key loss that might sting them more than they expect.

And then there is the one that is going to have Manchester United fans chewing their fingernails — Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly on Real Madrid's radar. Look, as a United fan it is genuinely painful to even type that. Mainoo is one of the few real bright spots at Old Trafford in recent years, a proper home-grown talent with composure well beyond his age. If United cannot get their act together and start looking like a club worth staying at, losing players like Mainoo to the Madrids of this world becomes a very real and very grim possibility. Hopefully it stays as gossip, but United need to sort themselves out quickly.

Busy Sunday all round, then. Let me know your thoughts.
