Early Life
Philip Walter Foden was born on May 28, 2000 in Stockport, Greater Manchester. He grew up in Edgeley and joined Manchester City's academy at four years old โ the club he and his family supported. When he was eight, a scout described him as the best player he had ever seen at that age.
Breakthrough
Foden won the Golden Ball award at the 2017 Under-17 World Cup aged 17. Pep Guardiola refused to loan him out, keeping him at City despite limited game time, insisting he was too good to develop anywhere else.
