Manchester United have enough problems on their plate right now, but the Marcus Rashford situation is turning into one of those slow-burning headaches that just won't go away. The club apparently can't quite decide what to do with him, and honestly, who can blame them. On his day, Rashford is the kind of player who can win you a game from nothing. The trouble is those days have become a bit too rare lately, and United are weighing up whether to cash in or back him to rediscover his best form. As a United fan it's painful to say, but the club might actually need the money more than they need a player who's been blowing hot and cold for the better part of two years.
Over in north London, both Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly keeping a close eye on Antonio Nusa at Club Brugge. The young Norwegian winger has genuine pace and tricks, and it's easy to see why two of the top London clubs are interested. Arsenal would probably use him as a long-term project, while Spurs might want him a bit sooner given how thin their attacking options can look when injuries hit. Either way it's a smart bit of business if either club can get it done at the right price.
Meanwhile Barcelona, who are perennially skint yet somehow always linked with everyone, have apparently added Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi to their shortlist. The teenager has been turning heads at the Vitality Stadium and it's no surprise that bigger clubs are starting to circle. Bournemouth have done a brilliant job developing young talent recently, and Kroupi looks like another one who could genuinely go all the way. Whether Barcelona can actually afford him given their financial situation is a very different question.
All in all it's a Thursday full of the kind of gossip that makes the football world go round. Some of it will come to nothing, some of it will shape next season in ways nobody quite expects right now. That's what makes this game so brilliant and so maddening in equal measure.
